Sweet Oat Snacks

ImageThese little treasures are just what you need to stop that growling noise coming from your stomach. “Settle Pettle, food is on the way.” is what I usually say. After these there will definitely be a party in your tummy. Sorry about that, maybe its all the Yo Gabba Gabba in our house at the moment. Or is it the Rum ? Who knows?

The Ingredients:

60g Muesli Mix

25g Fruit Porridge Mix

175g Jumbo Oats

150g Light Brown Soft Sugar

160g Golden Syrup

125g Raisins

100mls Captain Morgans Rum

Preheat Oven to 180 and grease and line rectangular tin. Soak raisins in bowl of boiled water from your kettle for 10 mins. Drain off water and cover with rum, and let them soak for at least 10 mins. Melt Butter, sugar and syrup. Stir in oats mix and rum raisins. Pour mix into prepared tin and smooth over with back of a spoon until level and firm. Bake in oven for approx 20 to 30 mins.  Should be golden on top and slightly soft to touch.Cool completely and cut into squares.
